Ceramic Commercial
Solutions
In the field of industrial and acid-resistant construction, we offer a comprehensive range of shaped ceramic components in coarse and fine fireclay quality. Optionally, our products are available with a dovetail underside, which enables a form-fitting and mechanically secure connection.
Material thicknesses of up to 40 mm enable our ceramic flooring systems to be used in high-load industrial applications.
Hygiene is particularly important wherever food is produced and processed. In these areas, floor and wall surfaces may be exposed to various requirements, including moisture, temperature fluctuations and cleaning processes.
Floor coverings must have a slip-resistant surface in accordance with applicable regulations. A range of slip-resistant surfaces allows the appropriate option to be selected according to the specific requirements. Ceramic products are quality-tested by an in-house laboratory and manufactured in accordance with applicable technical requirements.
Interbau-Blink ceramic surfaces are suitable for easy and thorough cleaning. Depending on the product and application, different properties are available for use in food processing areas.
ADVANTAGES IN FOOD INDUSTRY AREAS:
- Easy to clean
- Chemical resistance
- High stain resistance
- High flexural strength
- Low water absorption
- Slip resistance from R10 to R13
- Temperature-change resistance
- High load-bearing capacity
- Frost resistance
- WHG certification for applicable products
From underground stations to airports, and from military facilities to sports venues: ceramic tiles are used in a wide range of public and commercial buildings.
Our reference projects include numerous underground stations in Berlin, including Spittelmarkt and the “Unter den Linden”/Brandenburger Tor station. The stations at Potsdamer Platz, Märkisches Museum and Vinetastraße have also been designed or refurbished with architectural ceramics by Interbau-Blink in recent years. In each case, the characteristic appearance of the stations was taken into consideration.
FACADES &
BUILDINGS
A ceramic facade can complement the architectural design of a building.
Interbau-Blink offers a wide range of surfaces, colours and formats for individual façade designs.
From rustic unglazed brick slips to glazed or water-struck slips, as well as tiles suitable for walls and floors, our portfolio covers a wide range of applications. Custom-made pieces are also available for individual project requirements.
ALLROUNDER
BRICK LOFT
Brick slips allow for especially striking wall designs. Whether used as a full exterior wall covering or as a visual highlight indoors, brick slips are the perfect, individual complement to the wide range of floor tiles.
Interbau-Blink gives facades structure and color with the Home Collection series BRICK LOFT. Not only design the interiors of your home in a modern loft style, but also take advantage of the versatility of the Allrounder series in seven color options to give façades that special touch.
MODERN RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX
TARPENBEKER UFER
A ceramic facade can complement the architectural design of a building. One example is the “Tarpenbeker Ufer” development in Hamburg’s Groß Borstel district. A residential development with 940 housing units was built on the site of the former freight railway station.
The four- and five-storey buildings on all construction plots have been completed since the end of 2021. For this project, Interbau-Blink supplied more than 10,000 m² of brick slips from the Home Collection BRICK LOFT series in Light Grey and Anthracite, specially produced in a thickness of 13.5 mm.
ADVANTAGES OF
THE CERAMIC FACADE
A ceramic facade complements the architectural design and, depending on the system and application, can meet requirements relating to weather resistance, cleaning and use.
Ceramic facade surfaces are suitable for outdoor applications. Depending on the application, they can meet requirements for weather resistance as well as resistance to frost and de-icing salts.
Particularly in urban environments and public areas, an easy-to-clean facade surface can offer practical benefits.
FACADES IN
NEW DIMENSIONS
Full-ceramic facades from Interbau-Blink are suitable for external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS). Depending on the system and application, they can meet requirements for weather resistance as well as resistance to frost and de-icing salts. The production of large-format tiles has also expanded the product range to include specialty ceramics for XXL facade applications.
The pilot project in 2019/2020 was the Schiess-Sportzentrum Westerwald, covering a façade area of approximately 1,500 m². In close collaboration with the client, designs and colours were developed for the ceramic facade panels in sizes 2.40 × 1.20 m, 2.40 × 0.90 m and 3.20 × 1.20 m.
A ventilated curtain facade (VHF) was used for this project. It consists of a support structure made of special aluminium profiles, into which the required insulation is integrated. A minimum air gap of 2 cm is provided across the facade surface in front of the insulation. This air gap forms part of the ventilation layer of the facade.
