Celebrating Michael Dickopf

On August 1, 2024, the Interbau-Blink Group celebrated its 25th anniversary. The milestone was marked with a toast in the company’s newly created exhibition, opened just two years ago.

In addition to commemorating the long-standing success of the Interbau-Blink Group, a special tribute was paid to one individual: Michael Dickopf, Managing Director since the very beginning, who simultaneously celebrates 50 years with the company and 25 years as Managing Director.

Managing Director Olaf Mayer, Chairman of the Foundation Board Prof. Dr. Steudter, and the dedicated employees expressed their gratitude for his unparalleled commitment—a career defined by sharp intellect, humanity, and passion for Interbau-Blink.

Over the past 50 years, Michael Dickopf has transformed what was once a quietly glowing ember into, as he puts it, a “fire” for ceramics and Interbau-Blink—a fire he hopes to continue passing on to future generations.

Michael Dickopf’s talent for keeping the big picture in mind became evident early in his career. Starting in accounting, he was appointed Managing Director in 1999 by then-Managing Director Heinz Kern (who joined the company in 1971), as recognition for his dedication and exceptional skills.

Decisions made by Michael Dickopf together with long-standing colleagues, including Sales Director Klaus Klasen and Operations Managers Johannes Lahr and Torsten Klein, have proven to be highly successful. However, Prof. Dr. Steudter and Managing Director Olaf Mayer (joined 2020) are certain that the Group’s achievements are not due to luck alone.

They expressed their gratitude to Mr. Dickopf for his unwavering commitment, his calm and measured approach and his consistent ability to make the right decisions. We also want to take this opportunity to thank our “boss” for his enduring vision, continuous progress and reinvestments in the company - securing hundreds of jobs in the process.
